8/8/2023 0 Comments For iphone instal Cs Clone![]() Snow Leopard to El Capitan - HD or External HD Hoping someone can give me some advice. Is this possible to do? Is it a good idea? Has anyone tried it before, anything I should do before formatting the internal HDD? Maybe that works, to clone my OS X on my external HDD to the internal one. So my idea is: instead of using Disk Utility clone, use Carbon Copy Cloner 30-day free trial. So, I have an idea, but I'm not so sure of it, and I don't want to go to the Apple Store again, not to mention break my HDD (both of them), or even break the Mac. But I knew I couldn't use the external HD as a permanent solution. ![]() And it worked! On my first try, it installed and booted up into the desktop! I was so happy so I set my account up, enabled dark mode for the menu bar and dock, and did other setup stuff. I didn't want this scenario to happen to me again, so I had a brilliant idea - install OS X El Capitan on my external HDD - a LaCie Rugged Mini 2.0 with USB 3.0 - should be faster than my internal, ten-year old hard drive anyways, right. The first time I had to go to an Apple Store because I just couldn't figure out how to get it to boot. By the way, I already tried twice before, one time last month, and then a few years ago to upgrade this mac. ![]() That didn't work either, it was stuck on the loading screen with the Apple logo on its first boot. I ran into problems, it not booting, then showing new entry, so I erased the HD and tried again. I have tried to install OS X El Capitan on my 2009 iMac. ![]() I am also an experienced user, so don't hesitate to answer with more advanced stuff such as terminal.
